BASKETBALL
Who can play? Teams are coed between the ages of 5years old-8th grade
Division 1: 5- 7 y/o
Division 2: 8-10 y/o
Division 3: 11y/o-8th grade
There are 4 teams per division with 10 players per team. Each team will have a different colored game shirt.
What will I need to register? Complete basketball registration form, image consent form, a copy of birth certificate, 2020 sports physical and registration fee.
When are practices and games? Practices will be determined by the coach of when and where, once teams are set, the coach will contact you with this information.
What will my child need? ZAL will supply game shirt. Basketball shorts (preferably black) and shoes will need to be supplied by parent/guardian. An open mind to learn and a positive attitude.

ZAL YOUTH BASKETBALL RULES
BY AGE GROUP
•ZAL will be conducted according to National Federation of High School Basketball Rules unless otherwise noted
•5 game fouls per player
•(2)16 minutes halves- Running Clock (Clock stops at 2 minutes prior to the end of the game) with a 3 minute half.
•4-TOTAL 30-second timeouts per game
•Bonus 7 fouls per half per team (1&1)
•Double Bonus 10 fouls per half per team (2 shots)
•Overtime-1 1:00
•Overtime-2 Sudden Death (First team scores wins)
•20 Points down initiates a running clock (10 points differential will stop the clock again)
•8-10 year old team only allowed to full court press in last 2 minutes of the 2nd Quarter, otherwise only half court press allowed.
•11 year old and up team allowed to full court press entire game.
•5-7 year old teams are not permitted to press.
